The Province of Milan is part-owner of the Business Innovation Centres. These centres provide a comprehensive range of support services  to assist the creation and  growth of small and medium sized business (SMEs) in the local economy.
The services offered by the BICs go beyond traditional consultancy services for individual businesses. In addition to these, the BICs’ professional approach, competence, and resources are also applied to developmental projects arising initially from the requests made by the enterprises and ultimately benefiting the whole of the local entrepreneurial sector .

The BICs also provide consultancy services for local authorities and other organisations to promote an  increase in the level of competitiveness of the area, thus directly benefiting businesses.
